The Canon Powershot SX260 HS is the best deal on a digital camera under $300. Compared to other cameras this small Canon only has 12 megapixels vs 16 megapixels but unless you’re printing poster sized or are pixel peeping you will not be able to tell the difference between the two resolutions.
One of the best features of the Canon SX260HS is the zoom lens. It’s even longer and has more range than the lens on the Nikon S9200 above. The 20x zoom lens offers a range from 25mm to 480mm on the long end. This is longer (and a lot less cheaper) than the range available on some DSLR lenses.
